Solar for Everyone
Solar One’s Here Comes Solar (HCS) program seeks to expand access to the benefits of solar power to all New Yorkers. We realize this goal through solar technical assistance, with a focus on affordable housing, low-income renters, and non-profit organizations. To date HCS has facilitated more than 800 successful solar projects in NYC’s underserved market segments, delivering utility bill savings to those who need it most while providing environmental benefit to all New Yorkers.
Through a robust combination of solar expertise, an effective technical assistance model, and strong partnerships, HCS is making the benefits of solar accessible in NYC’s historically underserved building types, neighborhoods, and communities. Our model is rooted in education, which empowers our participants to make informed decisions about their solar projects.

Our Impact
We are proud to be working on some of New York City’s groundbreaking solar initiatives, bringing the benefits of solar to New Yorkers in neighborhoods and building types that have had limited access to solar until now. From co-ops and affordable housing to community solar projects that benefit renters, we are partnering with building owners and community groups to make their solar projects happen. Since 2014, we have facilitated more than 280 successful solar projects.
