Join the NYCPS Office of Energy and Sustainability and Solar One to learn how to take climate action through energy efficiency.
WHO: NYCPS Teachers (Grades 3-12)
WHAT: NYCPS teachers are invited to attend this professional learning opportunity where they will be provided with the training, curriculum, and supplies needed to integrate hands-on, culturally responsive climate resilience and renewable energy activities into their coursework. Participating teachers will receive a free classroom residency from SolarOne. Workshops will offer a total of 5 hours of CTLE professional learning credits. This program is FREE for teachers; all costs are covered by NYCPS through funding from the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS).
This PL is not geared towards K-2nd grade teachers, they are welcome to attend if interested, but lesson plans and content will be focused on grade 3 and older students.

Join the NYCPS Office of Energy and Sustainability and Solar One for a day of standards-aligned, hands-on activities. Explore ways to take climate action by reducing carbon emissions in schools and at home.
You’ll leave with a curriculum access as well as a supply list to bring climate action to life in your classroom. You will also be eligible for a free one-day classroom residency (Valued at $1,1017). Teachers will also receive up to 5 hours of CTLE credit for attending.

Please note: If you have participated in our other Energy Efficiency PLs sessions, you are welcome to attend again, but content may be the same.

Participating teachers will receive a materials toolkit for attending which consists of a classroom set of watt readers, light bulbs, and access to curriculum. Workshops will offer a total of 5 hours of CTLE professional learning credits. This program is FREE for teachers; all costs are covered by NYCPS through funding from the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS).
