Barrio Solar is a program to make solar power affordable for homeowners throughout Brooklyn. Barrio Solar lowers the upfront costs, reduces homeowners’ electricity costs, and combats climate change. Barrio Solar is a collaboration between non-profits Fifth Avenue Committee, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, and Solar One.

What can Barrio Solar do for you?
Determine whether solar panels are feasible for your roof
Analyze monthly energy costs and find savings / “Analyze your monthly electricity costs and what you could save with solar”
Provide no upfront cost to installation, while receiving all the benefits to solar with the option to full ownership of the solar PV system in 7 years
Is there an income requirement to join Barrio Solar?
We are targeting middle income families defined by HUD as under 120% AMI by family size. Barrio Solar is open to any homeowner with a 1-to-4 family house in Brooklyn.
