SUMMARY:Let’s Go Fishing at Stuy Cove Park!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Thursday evening fishing clinic on the East River Estuary\, held in collaboration with our friends from LES Ecology Center. \nWe’ll try our hand at catch and release\, discuss and attempt to identify the various fish species we see\, and watch as the shorebirds outfish us all 🙂 \nAll abilities\, and skill levels welcome. Children 1`0 and up can participate\, when accompanied by an adult. Please enter through the 20th street entrance to the park under the FDR. You will find us to your left in the northern section of the park along the bulkhead. All fishing equipment will be provided. Feel free to bring along a reusable water bottle and maybe some hand wipes if you’re fussy about fish. Looking forward to seeing you then! \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:City of (Food) Forest Day: an edible street tree tour
DESCRIPTION:Our street trees do so much: cool our homes\, clean the air\, mitigate storm water\, provide habitat for wildlife…but did you know they can\, at times\, provide food and medicine for us as well? During this urban canopy foraging walk we’ll learn the history and culinary uses of some of our most common street trees. We’ll sample a few tasty treats along the way\, and imagine a future where our streets are clean enough to eat off of. \nWARNING: The consumption of novel and/or wild foods is voluntary\, and done at event participant’s own risk. Folks with food allergies\, complex health challenges\, or who are pregnant/nursing should use an abundance of caution.
