WFMU at the High Line (solar-powered live radio)

May 31, 2010
7:00 pmto10:00 pm

Last spring and summer Solar One teamed up with WFMU’s DJ Trent Wolbe to produce a series of solar-powered radio broadcasts for the station’s “Sound and Safe” program on Monday nights. Solar One’s original photovoltaic charging units, designed by S1 BFF Elliot Montgomery provided the juice for both transmission and live amplification.

Our 2010 season begins next Monday when DJ/Rupture, DJ Trent, Solar One and Friends of the High Line team up next Monday, May 31st from 7-10pm to bring you a broadcast from The High Line, the most beautiful public space in New York.

Featuring a live set of interstellar 8-bit crunk by Minusbaby + live stargazing (with telescopes!) by the Amateur Astronomers’ Association. Join the fun in person – for free! – on the High Line under the Standard Hotel between 12th and 13th Streets (map).
