The idea of Pecha Kucha* is simple: Invite a dozen creative professionals working across a variety of fields to present 20 slides for 20 seconds each on whatever topic the speaker pleases. This format keeps presentations concise, interest levels up, and gives more people the chance to show their work and speak about their interests. Due to its popularity, ‘Pecha Kucha Night’ has spread internationally to over a hundred cities. Pecha Kucha New York (PKNY), launched in 2007 by a group of local architects, regularly draws 500+ crowds and hosts a multidisciplinary range of speakers presenting on a wide range of subject matters.
Solar One is excited to host and participate in PKNY for the first time. Our own Chris Neidl, as well as Solar One alum Jenn Su, will be included in the night’s lineup of featured speakers.
The evening will kick off with a performance by renowned chip musician Nullsleep, who will play a rare Famicom set mixing both original material and covered selections.
SEATING LIMITED TO FIRST 200 GUESTS!
*Pecha Kucha is a Japanese phrase that translates as “the sound of conversation.” The form was invented by Tokyo-based architects Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham.
