Renewable energy technologies are being heavily researched and have made great gains in efficiency as a result. But renewables, wind energy in particular, has yet to gain mass popular acceptance in the US. By enabling a group of talented and creative individuals with the knowledge, tools and materials needed to explore the design of a renewable energy source, new solutions or experiences may be developed.
A group of artists are investigating the potential for distributed small scale wind devices to provoke thought, delight audiences, and enhance our daily lives by redesigning, reformatting, or purposing wind turbines. Final pieces will be installed and demonstrated as a celebration and promotion of wind energy.
