Solar One Family Day: Butterfly Tagging

On Saturday, September 27, join Stuyvesant Cove Park Manager Melissa McDonald and participate in the Monarch Watch project from the University of Kansas. Monarch Watch is part of a series of citizen-scientist projects where anyone can help gather research information- in this case, studying the habits of these beautiful butterflies, which can tell us a lot about environmental changes in the very wide area they inhabit- from Canada to Mexico, at different times of the year. Learn how to interact with butterflies, which kinds of plants they like, and how you can start your own butterfly garden!
