Green Politics and Policy making in the Big Apple: A Conversation with Council Member David Yassky.

June 9, 2008
7:00 pmto8:30 pm

Brooklyn City Council Member David Yassky (33rd District) is widely regarded as one of the most thoughtful and innovative members of our city’s legislative body. During the course of his two-term tenure, Yassky has distinguished himself as a productive advocate for a host of environmental and quality of life issues, and has advanced innovative policy approaches spanning an impressive range of ‘green’ fronts – from the hybridization of the city’s taxi fleet to the expansion of waterfront open space.

On Monday June 9th, Council Member Yassky will offer an insider’s account into green policy making and politics in the Big Apple, and articulate his ‘activist’ re-definition of the office of City Comptroller. The conversation will be moderated by Solar One’s own Outreach and Advocacy Coordinator, Chris Neidl. Guests are encouraged to come with questions and comments.
