Dan Miner, chair of Sierra Club NYC and author of its new report, “Sustainable Energy Independence for NYC.” Most New Yorkers are aware of climate change, but many don’t want to pay extra to slow it down. On the other hand, the very immediate problem of rapidly rising fuel costs requires attention, can inspire broader buy-in, and can support further progress toward sustainability.
